Privacy policy

Who we are

PrintRight is made by BCLogic (“we”, “us”). For anything about privacy, write to [email protected].

The app

PrintRight works entirely on your iPhone or iPad. It does not ask you to create an account, it contains no advertising or analytics code, and it does not track you across other apps or websites. We have no server that the app talks to, so there is nothing on our side to store your data in.

The app keeps a few settings on your device, such as your preferred measurement unit and snapping options, so it can remember them between launches. PrintRight does not send us your photos, page contents, device identifiers or usage statistics.

Your photos and pages

When you add a photo, you choose it through Apple’s own photo picker or the Files browser. PrintRight only receives the photos you pick, not the rest of your library. A copy of each chosen photo or SVG drawing is kept in the app’s private storage on your device, so your page still works if the original is deleted. Copies that neither the page nor its undo history need any more are cleaned up automatically.

Editing happens on the device. That includes background removal and the automatic collage layouts, which use Apple’s on-device image analysis to find subjects and faces so they aren’t cropped awkwardly. The results of that analysis are not stored or sent anywhere.

When you save a page, PrintRight writes a .printright file wherever you choose in Files. What happens to that file afterwards, for example whether it syncs through iCloud Drive, depends on where you saved it and on your own device settings.

Deleting the app deletes its private storage, including the photo copies and the current page. Files you exported or saved elsewhere are separate copies and stay where you put them.

Printing, exporting and sharing

When you print, the page is sent directly to the AirPrint printer you pick, over your own network. When you export a PDF or JPEG, the file goes wherever you send it through the system share sheet: Files, Messages, Mail or another app. Those destinations handle the file under their own privacy terms. We never receive a copy.

Apple services

PrintRight is distributed through the App Store. Apple processes information about your download under its own privacy policy. If you have chosen in your device settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. These don’t identify you, and you can turn them off in Settings under Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements.

If your device is backed up to iCloud or a computer, the backup may include PrintRight’s data like any other app’s. That is managed by Apple and by you, not by us.

This website

getprintright.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which, like any web host, processes standard technical connection data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the pages and keep the site secure; Cloudflare’s own privacy policy covers how they handle it. We don’t use that information to identify or profile anyone. Fonts and images are served from this site itself, so your browser doesn’t contact anyone else while you read it.

Emailing us

If you write to us, we receive your email address, whatever you put in the message and any attachments. We use it only to reply to you and to fix the problem you reported, and we don’t add you to any mailing list. You can ask us to delete the conversation at any time. Send only what you’re comfortable sharing; we promise not to judge the photos.

Children

PrintRight is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, children included. If you email support, please leave out a child’s personal details unless they’re genuinely needed to explain the problem.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR give you rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you, and to complain to a data protection authority. Since the app gives us no personal data, the only thing we could hold is an email conversation you started. Write to [email protected] and we’ll help.

Changes to this policy

If PrintRight starts handling data differently, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the app. We don’t expect to, because not collecting anything is rather the point.
